Trump announces he will meet Mexican president today
US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump announced Tuesday night that he has accepted an invitation from Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and will meet with him in Mexico City on Wednesday afternoon (local time). The announcement was a surprise as Trump has advocated a tough immigration policy and described Mexican illegal immigrants as rapists and killers. Pena Nieto previously compared Trump's rhetoric to that of Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler. Trump has promised to build a wall between the two countries that he says will be paid for by the Mexican government, After the security arrangements for the trip were completed, Trump tweeted that he looks "very much forward to meeting" Mexico's leader. The Republican nominee is expected to give a speech in Phoenix on his immigration policy immediately after returning to the US.
