Trump arrives in Jerusalem from state welcome at Ben-Gurion

US President Donald Trump and the first lady were flown by Marine One helicopter to Jerusalem Monday for their first date in Israel – a reception at the residence of President Reuven and Nehama Rivlin. They are next scheduled to enter the Old City through Jaffa Gate and pay private visits on foot to the Church of the Sepulcher and the Western Wall. Police and security forces are lining the US president’s Old City route. Security authorities ordered shops closed and some dwellings temporarily evacuated for the visit.
Palestinians are holding demonstrations across the Judea and Samaria and some are clashing with Israeli troops.
On landing at Ben Gurion, President Trump replied to the speeches of welcome by President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu with a warm affirmation of the bonds between the two nations.
