Trump expands travel ban to North Korea, Venezuela and Chad
The White House said the new travel restrictions, which now include North Korea, Venezuela and Chad, follow a review of information-sharing on terrorism and vetting procedures with foreign governments. They come in addition to the original restrictions, which applied to Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Somalia, but removed those placed on Sudan. The ban, which was challenged by local US courts, comes into effect on Oct. 18 but does not apply to people already in possession of valid visas.
