Trump: I’m a victim of biggest political witch hunt in US history

US President Donald Trump on Thursday decried the appointment of a special counsel to probe alleged ties between his campaign staff and Russia, tweeting that it is "the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!"  He also said that there was never a special counsel appointed despite "all of the illegal acts that took place" in the Clinton campaign and the Obama administration.
On Wednesday, while delivering a commencement address at the US Coast Guard Academy, Trump asserted that "no politician in history" has been treated worse or more unfairly than him.
