Trump lands in Beijing after warning North Korea: Don’t try us

US President Donald Trump landed in Beijing Wednesday, his third stop on a five-nation tour of Asia. Before flying out of Seoul, he issued a warning to North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un in an address to South Korea’s parliament. “Do not underestimate us. Do not try us,” he said, “The weapons you are acquiring are not making you safer.” He meets his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping for talks likely to focus on trade and North Korea.

DEBKAfile: The Trump administration has so far been unable to deter Kim Jong-un from racing ahead with this nuclear and missile programs. Neither was any attempt made to shoot down any test launches of his missiles. During his brief visit to South Korea, Trump again declined to visit the demilitarized zone dividing the two Koreas, citing bad weather conditions, mainly fog, as his pretext.
