Trump names Richard Spenser new Navy Secretary

The White House has announced the nomination of Richard V. Spencer, former marine pilot and banker, as Secretary of the Navy. Most recently Managing Partner for the Fall Creek Management investment company, Spencer served as a US Marine Corps aviator from 1976, leaving the service as Captain in 1981. In December he was appointed executive advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations on future warfare and reaching out to technology business leaders, a Navy official reported. The president’s decision was endorsed by Secretary of Defense James Mattis.
