Trump: No concessions to free American pastor held in Turkey

Turkey had sought US help to persuade Israel to release a Turkish woman held for ties with the Hamas terrorist organization. US President Donald Trump said Monday: “I got that person out for him (Tayyip Erdogan) and he was to have released the American pastor Andrew Brunson and other Americans held in Turkey.” Israel released and deported Ebru Ozkan on July 15. Ankara then denied ever agreeing to free the pastor in return. “I think it’s very sad what Turkey is doing,” Trump said. “I think they’re making a terrible mistake. There will be no concessions. It can’t be a one-way street.”
