President Donald Trump arrived unannounced in Afghanistan on Thursday. He sat down with the troops for Thanksgiving dinner at Bagram Air Base near Kabul. Trump secretly departed Florida in the dark of night for his maximum-security trip. He was accompanied by Gen. Mark Milley, Chairman of the US Chiefs of Staff. In a long speech, he disclosed the restart of another round of US peace talks with Taliban. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani stood beside him. The soldiers cheered when the president touted the death of ISIS chief Baghdadi. There are currently 13,000 American troops in Afghanistan. More than 2,200 US troops were killed in America’s longest-running war since 2001.
