Trump starts first meeting with Netanyahu followed by Gantz

President Donald Trump and Binyamin Netanyahu refused to answer reporters’ questions on the president’s Israel-Palestinian peace plan, ahead of their first White House meeting on Monday. Trump commented, “That system needs looking at,” over the three Israeli elections in a year without a resolution between two main rivals. He is due to meet Kahol Lavan leader  Benny Gantz directly after seeing the prime minister and due to brief both on his peace plan. Trump and Netanyahu meet again on Tuesday, after the prime minister predicted a “historic event.”  Earlier, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas refused to take a phone call from the US president.
