Trump suggests Beirut explosions caused by “bomb of some kind”

US President Donald Trump suggested “a terrible attack” and “a bomb of some kind” had caused the massive explosion that killed up to 100 people and injured thousands in Beirut on Tuesday. The cause of the blast as not been confirmed, but the Lebanese prime minister blamed it on thousands of tonnes of ammonium nitrate that had been stored for years at a warehouse in Beirut port – therefore, an accident.
