Trump talks to Saudi king, sends Pompeo to Riyadh

US President Donald Trump was finally able to speak to Saudi King Salman on Monday and heard him deny knowledge of what happened to “our Saudi citizen.” The conversation took place nearly two weeks after the journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s disappearance in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul prompted Turkish accusations of his murder.  On Monday, Turkish investigators entered the consulate building for the first time. Trump tweetedL “Just spoke to the King of Saudi Arabia who denies any knowledge of whatever may have happened ‘to our Saudi Arabian citizen.’ He said that they are working closely with Turkey to find an answer. I am immediately sending our Secretary of State to meet with King!”
