Trump urges Qatar to end is support for terrorism
“The nation of Qatar is historically a funder of terrorism,” President Donald Trump said Friday at a joint news conference at the White House with the Romanian president. The funding of terrorism must stop. He said he had decided with the secretary of state and US generals that the time had come to call on Qatar to end is funding for extremist ideology. “We want Qatar back among the unity of civilized nations and do more and faster.” He thanked Saudi Arabia, King Salman and the countries which took part in the historic summit of Arab and Muslim leaders in Riyadh. “We are now seeing the beginning of the end of funding for terrorism,” he said.
This week four Arab nations Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt severed diplomatic and aviation ties with Qatar over its hosting of terrorist operatives and ties with Tehran. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has offered to mediate the dispute.
