Trump: US will abrogate nuclear deal with Iran if IAEA monitoring is not tough

US President Donald Trump warned Monday that Washington will walk away from the nuclear deal six nations signed with Iran in 2015 if the International Atomic Energy Agency is not tough enough in monitoring it. “We will not accept a weakly enforced or inadequately monitored deal,” he said.

This warning was read out to the UN watchdog agency’s annual meeting by US Energy Secretary Rick Perry.

And the US president also said the international community “must continue to hold Syria accountable for its past construction of a clandestine nuclear reactor.” Against Syrian denials, Amano has verified that a target destroyed by Israeli warplanes in the Syrian desert in 2007 was the covert site of a future nuclear reactor.
