Trump vows US military will avoid overseas conflicts, defeat ISIS
US President-elect Donald Trump laid out his military policy in a speech on Tuesday, saying "We will stop racing to topple foreign regimes that we know nothing about, that we shouldn't be involved with", and that "Instead, our focus must be on defeating terrorism and destroying ISIS, and we will." He promised to strengthen the "depleted" military and to build up the country's infrastructure. Trump also introduced retired Gen. James Mattis, his choice for defense secretary, at the event. The president-elect made the latest stop of his "thank you" tour in Fayetteville, North Carolina, near Fort Bragg where the US military's Special Operations Command is located.
