Trump’s envoys arrive to promote Israeli-Palestinian diplomacy

A three-member US delegation returns to the region to continue promoting Israel-Palestinian peace talks. Its members, senior aides to President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, Jason Greenblatt and deputy national security adviser Dina Powell, will sit down with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem at midday Thursday, hours after he flew back from a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Sochi. The trio will then move to Ramallah for talks with Mahmoud Abbas and other Palestinian leaders, after meetings with President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi in Caro and Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman in Riyadh. Neither Israel nor the Palestinians have high expectations of progress.
