Trump’s spokesman: ‘Stay tuned’ on move of US embassy to Jerusalem

Incoming White House spokesman Sean Spicer said Thursday at his first press conference, in response to a question from an Israeli reporter, that interested parties should "stay tuned" on whether President-elect Donald Trump intends to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Immediately afterwards, without being asked, he said "The president-elect has been very clear that Israel has not gotten the attention it deserves or the respect in the last eight years. He intends to really show his respect for Israel (and) the importance of it in the Middle East." Spicer said there are ongoing discussions about policy toward Israel between Trump, Secretary of State-designate Rex Tillerson, Ambassador to Israel-designate David Freedman, and the president-elect's special adviser for the Middle East, Jared Kushner. Before moving on to the next question, Spicer added that one of the issues being discussed is how the administration will support and work better with Israel.
