Turkey advises citizens to leave Iraqi Kurdistan before flights suspended
Turkey advised its citizens to leave Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region before Turkish Airlines, AtlasGlobal and Pegasus suspend flights to the area at Baghdad’s request, following the Kurdish independence referendum this week. Turkey also warned against travel to the northern Iraqi cities of Dahuk, Irbil and Sulaimaniyah, citing security risks. Sharjah-based Air Arabia will “temporarily suspend its flights” to the KRG from Saturday in the wake of Egypt and Qatar.
