Turkey angry at US soldiers in Kurdish uniform. hypocrisy
Ankara was furious at the sight of photos of US special operations soldiers in Kurdish uniforms fighting ISIS in Syria that were published Friday.
The Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Çavuşoglu, angrily accused the Obama administration of: “a double standard and hypocrisy.”
Turkey objects to the presence Kurdish soldiers, especially members of the Syrian-Kurdish militia YPG along its borders.
DEBKAfile: Both Washington and Moscow support the YPG as the only military force in North Syria that is capable dealing with ISIS. The US risks Turkey retaliating by barring its airbases in south Turkey to US air bombers.
