Turkey arrests two Chinese nationals for Istanbul club shooting
Two Chinese nationals of Uighur origin were arrested in Turkey as suspects in the shooting attack in an Istanbul nightclub on New Year's Eve, that killed 39 people and was claimed by the Islamic State group.
The suspects, Omar Asim and Abuliezi Abuduhamiti, were arrested on charges of "being members of a terrorist organization", of "purchasing unlicensed firearms" and "being accomplices to the murder of 39 people." The actual gunman, likely a Turkic Ughur from Central Asia, remains at large
