Turkey arrests two suspected Russian agents in Istanbul assassination case
Two supected Russian secret agents have been arrested over the assassination of Abdulvakhid Edelgireyev, a Chechen terrorist who fled to Turkey, in a joint operation by the Turkish police and the country's MIT internal intelligence agency, reports said Thursday. The suspects, aged 52 and 55, deny the accusations and are remaining silent under questioning by Turkish authorities. Moscow has yet to officially respond to the arrest of the suspects, who were found with fake passports and photographs of the site of the assassination. Edelgireyev was shot and stabbed in a suburb of Istanbul in November 2015.
