Turkey-Libya deal clamps siege on Israel’s marine gas fields

Turkey and Libya have signed a pact dividing control of the waters of the Mediterranean between them, a grab that virtually blockades the offshore gas and oil fields of Israel, Egypt, Cyprus and Greece. It also overrides those countries’ economic zones. Israel, deeply deadlocked in its efforts to form a government, has not reacted. DEBKAfile: The Turkish-Libyan siege overrides the Mediterranean rights of the littoral nations and sets up a major barrier against plans for laying pipelines to carry their gas and oil to their primary export markets in Europe. This crude action may be likened to China’s unilateral declaration of sovereignty over South China Sea islands.

They -Israelis cannot do anything ; The Israelis unfortunately are subject to Maritime laws , where Turkey holds most of the rights , going back to who knows what time .Moreover Turks will not allow anyone to interfere with their rights of supply via their priory . That is where peace is needed . Since Israel cannot fight this one . Even the find in Mediterranean by name Leviatan , is not really Israeli , and has 3 disputes on it .American investment makes no difference . Turks exist in the area as long as civilization. Too bad

Good luck in Turkey & Syria Protecting something they cannot Protect! All America has to do in South China Seas is Build Defense Islands with Vietnam, Taiwan, & Philippines. China then will back down. Israel, Egypt, Cyprus & Greece will do the same.

Turkey and Libya have no way to enforce this illegal territory grab, what are they going to do float rafts, The US will be moving through the said area a lot more, hopefully parking a carrier battle group and fast attack subs out there, Turkey and Libya, just need Ethiopia for the Ezekiel 38-39 party.

If the Turks are counting on using any Ottoman Empire treaties or claimed of ownership of the seas, they are not going to win any legal arguments. When the Ottoman Empire dissolved after WWI all their rights to the occupied lands and sea ended. The WWI surrender agreement includes those conditions. Let’s see if any of the “smart” Jewish lawyers will research this and use it against them.

Does “Libya” still exist at all ? My understanding is that it is a no-mans-land of multiple gangs that hate and murder each other on a daily basis . If that is so, How the Sultan is going to execute his ludicrous plan ?

Perhaps Turks can move from occupied Byzantine back to their native Turkmenistan – there is plenty of natural gas out there for them to enjoy..

It may be wise to consider let Gazprom (Putin) in on the future pipeline to Europe. Turkey won’t mess with Russia’s ability to make money.
