Turkey, Ukraine kick off joint naval exercise in Black Sea

Two rivals of Russia, Ukraine and Turkey, started a joint naval exercise in the Black Sea on Thursday, their second during the past several months. The participating forces include destroyers, frigates and signal communication vessels from both countries. The Turkish and Ukranian defense industries are also planning cooperation as political and military ties between Ankara and Kiev continue to grow following the previous joint drill as well as a visit by Ukranian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin to the Turkish capital at the beginning of the year.
