Turkish army invades Syria, battles ISIS around city of Jarablus
The Turkish military along with coalition forces launched a large-scale operation at 4:00 am on Wednesday in northern Syria around the city of Jarablus. Artillery batteries and air force planes started bombarding ISIS strongholds in the city to prepare for the entry of ground troops. Turkey started evacuating the Turkish border town of Karkamis, located across from Jarablus, on Tuesday night after announcing that it will "completely cleanse militants from its border region with Syria."
