Two bomb blasts kill 27 people at Philippines cathedral

The first explosion occurred at a Roman Catholic cathedral on Jolo Island of the Philippines during Sunday Mass. The second detonated as soldiers responded. Twenty-seven people were killed and dozens injured. Jolo has long been a base for Islamist rebels, including the Abu Sayyaf group. No group has claimed responsibility.
