Two dead in shooting at UCLA, campus on lockdown
Two people were killed in a shooting at UCLA on Wednesday morning, prompting a massive response from local and federal law enforcement, the LAPD confirmed.
The campus was placed on lockdown just after 10 a.m., as police searched for the gunman, according to the university.
People are being asked to shelter in place in an engineering building on campus, the university said.
The shooting left students hiding in classrooms, some securing doors with belts because they wouldn’t lock, as word of the gunfire spread across campus.
According to eyewitness, the shooter was wearing a black jacket and black pants.
