Two explosions, gunfire in apparent terrorist attack on Nairobi hotel
First reports of a terrorist attack on the upscale DusitD2 hotel-cum-office complex in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi on Tuesday afternoon. People were seen running away from the complex amid smoke, two explosions and gunfire. Nairobi police commander Philip Ndolo said officers had cordoned off the area around Riverside Drive and armed anti-terror police were at the scene. No further details are yet available. In 2013, Islamist terrorists killed 67 people in a siege lasting for days at Nairobi’s Westgate shopping center.
