Two Israeli women killed in heavy rocket barrage over Ashkelon
Hundreds of rockets were fired from Gaza this Tuesday targeting Ashdod, Ashkelon, Sderot and locations bordering on the enclave. Two women, one aged 89 and a Holocaust survivor and her Indian caregiver, did not survive the wounds they sustained in a direct hit to their home in Ashkelon. They were the first fatalities of the current three-day Palestinian rocket onslaught, which has claimed 70 injured casualties until now.
Hamas boasted shooting 137 rockets in 5 minutes on Tuesday– an all-time record claimed by the terrorist organization. The IDF counter-terror operation continued into its second day. The head of the Islamic Jihad’s rocket unit was killed in an air strike over Gaza City.
