Two soldiers wounded from mortar shrapnel in Sderot

The two soldiers were injured by shrapnel from a mortar shell aimed from Gaza at an IDF assembly point outside Sderot. The security cabinet ended a meeting Sunday with a directive to the IDF to carry on conducting counter-terror strikes in the Gaza Strip and get set for continued escalation, which officials estimated would carry over past Independence Day on May 9. After a Thai farm worker was hospitalized with injuries from a rocket, a decision was taken to evacuate the Thai workers employed on farms around the Gaza Strip. Schools in the region will remain closed for a second day confining 200,00 schoolchildren to bomb shelters at home.
