Two suicide bombers blow themselves up near Ankara
A male and a female, suspected of planning to carry out a car bomb attack in the Turkish capital of Ankara, blew themselves up Saturday when police acting on a tip-off demanded their surrender. Ankara police suggested they were likely acting for the Kurdish separatist PKK. A third person is being sought. The pair were hiding at a horse farm outside the capital. Their car flew a Turkish flag and was found to contain plastic explosives and ammonium nitrate.
