Two Syrian anti-air missiles fired against Israel aircraft

IDF planes striking Syrian army positions Tuesday, after a Syrian shell strayed across the Golan border, were attacked by two Syrian S-200 missiles. They returned to base unscathed – in contradiction to the Syrian claim that they downed an Israeli plane and a drone. DEBKAfile: Israeli warplanes are equipped with counter-measures for anti-air missiles. In the past ten days, four shells have strayed over the Golan border from the Syrian civil war, causing no casualties or damage. Each has drawn an Israel military response.
