UAE sends Colombian mercenaries to fight in Yemen: report
Colombian mercenaries hired and trained by the UAE's army have been sent to fight alongside the Saudi-led coalition forces against the Houthi rebels in Yemen, American media reports said Thursday. According to the reports, more than 1,800 South American soldiers, mostly Colombians and members of ethnic minorities from Panama, El Salvador and Chile, are in the new brigade that has been supplied with weapons, ammunition, and communications and night vision equipment. Their salary was estimated at $2,500 a month, six times the average in their own countries.
