UK Brexit Secretary quits over May’s EU exit strategy

David Davis has resigned as Brexit Secretary in the UK government in protest against Prime Minister Theresa May’s plan for leaving the European Union which he said would leave Parliament in a “weak negotiating position.” Her plan was approved by the cabinet on Friday. May said she did not agree but thanked him for his work. Davis’ resignation is a major setback for her bid to win over Eurosceptic MPs to her proposed Brexit vision.
