UK diplomats have left the embassy in Moscow

The 23 diplomats left Russia ahead of the deadline given by the Kremlin for their departure in reprisal for the UK’s expulsion of 23 Russian diplomats. A EU summit in Brussels agreed to recall its ambassador from Moscow in solidarity with the UK over the poisoning of a Russian ex-spy and is daughter in Salisbury. The Russian foreign ministry voiced “regret” for the decision, commenting that the EU was “heading for an anti-Russia campaign instigated by London and Washington.” Its only reason was “to help the British PM out of a difficult situation,” said the Moscow statement.
