UK Foreign Secretary at Geneva: Sticking points same as before
British Foreign Secretary William Hague said Saturday that the two sticking points which prevented the six powers and Iran reaching a deal in Geneva two weeks ago are still there today. Although progress has been made to close gaps, difficult areas remain. “We will not sign a bad deal,” he pledged.
Secretary of State John Kerry made a point of meeting French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius as soon as he arrived in Geneva that morning to try and overcome France’s objections to the text so far negotiated, and so remove a major impediment against a breakthrough to a deal.
