UK Labor leader accused of burying party’s anti-Semitism “problem”
Two Labor MPs Michael Dugher and Rachel Reeves, joined by Labor peers, are demanding the publication of an inquiry by Labor Students into the harassment of Jewish students at the prestigious Oxford University. The report was handed to Corbyn’s office and circulated among senior Labor staff. But, according to a party source, “They wanted it to be buried” for political reasons. “Corbyn wanted to protect his favored candidates at the Labor Youth elections last weekend.
The same source said: “It plays to a wider issue: everyone knows there is a problem with anti-Semitism on the left but they continue with impunity, they have a carte blanche under Corbyn.”
In a poll among leaders of Jewish communities in Europe, it was revealed Sunday that 40 percent of respondents believe that anti-Semitism is one of the biggest threats to the future of Jewish life in their country.
