UK votes to leave the EU

With most of the votes counted, Britain’s referendum has clearly ended with a small majority in favor of leaving the European Union after 43 years. The nearly final count is 51.7pc for out and 48.3pc in. The vote in Scotland is for continuing to remain in the EU, which amounts to a split in the UK. Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to resign after losing the vote to his rival Boris Johnson who led to campaign to leave. In a first response, 84 lawmakers of the ruling Conservative party sent a letter to the premier urging him to stay.  The pound plunged eight percent against the dollar in volatile trading.
