Ukraine dismisses Putin’s ceasefire order

President Vladimir Putin ordered his defense minister on Thursday to implement a temporary unilateral  36-hour ceasefire in Ukraine to allow Orthodox Christians to attend Christmas prayers. Ukrainian officials dismissed the proposal as “hypocrisy” and an attempt to gather reserves and equipment for an operation to halt the Ukraine army’s push into the eastern Donbas region.
