Ukraine separatists free Swedish observer
Pro-Russian separatists Sunday freed a Swedish observer after presenting to reporters observers from Germany, Denmark, Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic in Slavyansk, two days after their capture. OSCE officials arrived to negotiate their release. Seized with them were Ukrainians alleged to be members of Ukraine’s “Alfa Force.” In a separate development, pro-Russian gunmen said they had captured three Ukrainian security services members overnight in eastern Ukraine. Kiev later confirmed a number of its officers had been seized.
The German monitor said all the European officers are in good health and no one is sick. "We're not fighters, we're diplomats in uniforms," he said – "guests of the mayor – not prisoners of war," said another.
