Ukraine signs EU accord which sent country into crisis

President Petro Poroshenko Friday signed a European Union accord that, rejected by his predecessor, was the spark that sent the country into crisis, hours before a week-long ceasefire between the government and pro-Russian expired. Thousands of Ukrainians were seen fleeing eastern Ukraine at the Russian border. Moscow reacted with anger to the accord, claiming that it will damage Russia’s economy.
