Ukrainian forces call for urgent Western supply of artillery
As Ukrainian warfare becomes increasingly positional, especially in the Severodonetsk-Lysychansk area, Ukrainian forces are suffering a substantial disadvantage in artillery strength by a ratio of one to 10-15 Russian artillery pieces. Some Western media outlets are reporting that in the last 48 hours, Kyev has intensified its requests for more sophisticated Western weapons systems as well as help to transition to new supply chains of ammunition. Both will be increasingly decisive in the largely static fighting in eastern Ukraine.
