UN Golan peacekeepers get anti-chemical arms protection kits
UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Herve Ladsous surprised reporters in New York Monday with the news that his organization was providing its peacekeepers (UNDOF) on the Syrian Golan with kits to protect them from chemical weapons that could be used in the Syrian conflict. The kits were supplied by the United States. He also admitted that the UN continues to make contingency plans for the deployment of a UN force in Syria.
