UN SC approves its first non-vetoed Syria resolution

The UN Security Council early Sunday unanimously approved a resolution calling for Syrian government and opposition forces to grant access to humanitarian aid convoys for civilians. No sanctions were threatened, only “further steps” for sides which do not comply. Russia and China voted in favor after making sure sanctions were dropped.
