UN Secretary presents Syrian chemical report Monday pm
Ban Ki-moon is to present Monday at 1515 GMT the findings of the UN chemical experts who investigated the scene of the Aug. 21 chemical attack on Damascus outskirts. According to leaked content, the experts confirmed overwhelmingly that chemical arms were used to kill hundreds of Syrians, but were not allowed to determine who carried out the attack. The report follows the US-Russian deal Saturday stipulating the destruction of Syria’s chemical arsenal, on which US Secretary of State John Kerry briefs the British, French, Saudi and Turkish foreign ministers in Paris Monday. “Russia, the Americans, all sides, have been putting on pressure over this report,” a UN official told AFP.
