The UN Security Council meets on Ghouta crisis Thursday
Russia has summoned for Thursday a UN Security Council meeting on the East Ghouta humanitarian crisis, as the death toll from indiscriminate Syrian attacks on the rebel-held suburb of Damascus nears 300. Russia is working within the UN Security Council to draft a resolution to address pressing humanitarian issues in the embattled Damascus suburb, deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said. Moscow insists that “all sides” to the dispute be allowed to present their case.
Sounds similar to Israeli bombing of Gaza.
In both cases it is a sovereign government defending itself.
