Unanimous EU agreement on Greek bailout
Leftist Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras accepted a compromise deal approved unanimously at the Eurozone summit in Brussels early Monday for the immediate release of funds to avert Greek state bankruptcy. Negotiations will begin for a third bailout program provided that, by Wednesday night, the Greek parliament approves a package of sweeping and painful reforms. Tsipras must weather a mutiny in his own Syriza party, some of whose lawmakers may resign their seats. He is also expected to fire dissident ministers from his cabinet.
