Unemployment in Israel surges to 20pc

The employment service reported Wednesday that more than 700,000 people had lost their jobs, a hike of 20pc in March compared with 4 pc before the coronavirus crisis. Most were sent out on unpaid leave and many don’t expect to have jobs to go back to in  their shuttered places of employment.
