Unemployment induced by the coronavirus crisis is soaring

The number of applicants for unemployment assistance has risen in all parts of Israel, gaining by an average one thousand percent in the six main towns. Worst hit are Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Eilat as well as the Arab towns of Kafr Qasem and Tira. The emergency unemployment insurance law expires on July 1.
