UNESCO bashes Israel again, denying its sovereignty over Jerusalem
The World Heritage Committee of UNESCO on Tuesday evening adopted its latest anti-Israel resolution, denying Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem and claiming Israel's projects in the Old City are illegal under international law. Out of the 21 member states of the committee, ten approved while eight abstained and three were opposed. The vote came during the committee's ongoing meeting in Krakow, Poland.
In response to the resolution, Israel's ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said "Nothing is more disgraceful than UNESCO declaring the world’s only Jewish state the 'occupier' of the Western Wall and Jerusalem’s Old City", adding "No faux 'heritage committee' can sever the bonds between our people and Jerusalem."
