Updated directives on overland border crossings and air travel

Interior Minister Aryeh Der’i has amended his original directive and announced it would take effect on Thursday at 17:00 hours when all overland border crossings would be shut down until Sunday including the Allenby Bridge terminal.
The Israir airline will be running two special rescue flights for Israelis stranded aboard by the closure of Ben Gurion airport to international flights to curtail covid infection by imported variants. Both will fly out of Frankfurt – the first on Thursday night and the second on Sunday.

Passengers must show negative results of tests taken 72 hours previously and obtain official certification as a special case signed by the committee set up to approve exceptions to the closure of air traffic. They will pay a fare of $250 for the trip and be restricted to 8kg of hand language and 23kg of freight.
