US agrees to remove Sudan from terrorism-sponsors’ list
President Donald Trump tweeted Monday that Sudan will be removed from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list after the transitional government in Khartoum agreed to pay $335m to US terror victims and their families. The deposed Sudanese ruler Bashir was accused of supporting terrorist groups in 1993 after Al Qaeda attacks on the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Trump’s decision is subject to approval by the US Congress.
